There were some wild scenes at a US racetrack early on Saturday morning when a horse threw away certain victory in the run to the wire. It wasn’t the only thing the horse threw, with jockey Simon Camacho-Benitez sent hurtling into the running rail after his mount Moro Flyboy ($7.10) reacted adversely to the hoop’s use of the whip in the right hand. At that stage Moro Flyboy had the 1100m sprint at Lone Star racecourse all sewn up, with his rivals well in arrears inside the final furlong.
