The Tigers found themselves in the winner’s bracket at the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Alabama, this week by virtue of an 11-6 win over the Kentucky Wildcats on Thursday night.

However, the Tigers drew a tough matchup against the Tennessee Volunteers, the top seed in the tournament and No. 1-ranked team in the entire nation. LSU was looking to stun UT in the first competition between the two teams on Friday night, but it couldn’t get enough offense going in a 5-2 loss despite a fantastic performance from Trent Vietmeier coming out of the bullpen.

That sets up a rematch against the Wildcats — who beat Vanderbilt 10-2 on Friday — in an elimination game on Saturday. UK is the lowest seed in the tournament and will look to keep its Cinderella story going while the Tigers will look to seal a spot in the semifinals and bolster their case to host a regional in the NCAA Tournament.

First pitch for that one is set tentatively for 1 p.m. CT, but it will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the elimination game between Florida and Alabama, which starts at 9:30 a.m. In the meantime, here were some of the best shots as LSU came up short in the late-night duel.
